ITR (Indian income tax return)

The return an individual files with India's Income Tax Department, in rupees, for a tax year that runs from 1 April to 31 March. On the forms published to date a non-resident cannot use the simple ITR-1 and files ITR-2, or ITR-3 with business income. Filing is how excess tax deducted at source is refunded.
